I was totally confused at first in *Pokemon Legends: Z-A*! The game *does* mention Pokemon appear at different times, but I got so caught up in the Z-A Royale that I thought nighttime was just for that. Turns out, that’s wrong! I was wondering where to find a Honedge, and I was looking *all* day! It wasn’t until I realized Honedge only shows up at night, and in one particular Wild Zone, that I finally found one. It’s easy to miss these things if you’re focused on the main story!
Where to catch Honedge
You’re likely already aware that Honedge appears in Wild Zone 4. Unlike Gastly, which can be found day or night, Honedge is a nocturnal Pokémon. It only spawns in Wild Zone 4 at night. While not super common, it appears frequently enough that you shouldn’t have to search for long. Just sit on a bench to fast-forward to nighttime, and you’ll start seeing them in the cemetery.
To evolve Honedge’s evolution, Doublade, into Aegislash, you’ll need to obtain a Dusk Stone. You can buy one in Southern Lumiose on Vernal Avenue. Remember, Doublade doesn’t evolve by leveling up! While you might find evolution stones around Lumiose, by the time you’re ready to evolve Doublade, the Emporium is likely to have Dusk Stones for sale.
Hopefully, you’ve managed to catch a Honedge! Aegislash is a popular Pokémon from the X and Y games, so it’s understandable players would want one in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. If you did, congratulations – enjoy the rest of your time in Lumiose City!
