Just under a month after its release, The Pokémon Company has revealed details about the paid downloadable content for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, called Mega Dimension. It will be available on December 10th, the company said today.
Using the power of the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa, you can travel through portals to a special version of Lumiose City called “Hyperspace.” It looks just like the regular city, but everything is covered in chrome. This alternate version features Pokémon you couldn’t find in the original game, including Alolan and Galarian forms from past Pokémon games.
Even with a well-trained team from Legends: Z-A, the Pokémon you encounter in Hyperspace Lumiose will be tough opponents. Some are incredibly powerful, even reaching levels over 100 thanks to special “hyperspace levels.”
Meet Ansha, a new character in Mega Dimension! If you give her berries, she’ll bake donuts for Hoopa, which will then open portals to new parts of Hyperspace Lumiose. Bringing berries back from Hyperspace will make even stronger donuts, giving you a significant advantage in battles against powerful, higher-level Pokémon.
Fans who enjoyed Pokémon X and Y will be excited to see Korrina back! She’s no longer just a Gym Leader—she’s now dedicated to finding every Pokémon that can Mega Evolve, continuing the work of a long line of experts. You can tell by her new, brightly colored outfit, which is covered in Mega Stones!
The DLC introduces new Mega Evolutions, including the already revealed Mega Raichu X and Y. We’re also getting Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur, but you can only get the Mega Stone for Mega Baxcalibur by playing the Z-A Battle Club online mode. Recent improvements to the ranked battles in that mode should make getting the Mega Stone easier.
Hey everyone, awesome news! They just released a new Mega Stone today! If you use the Mystery Gift feature, you can snag a Diancite Stone. Once you get it, a new side quest called “Shine Bright like a Gemstone” will pop up, and you can actually get Diancie – a super rare Mythical Pokémon – and Mega Evolve it! I’m definitely checking this out right now.
Some fans were annoyed that the Pokémon Legends: Z-A expansion was revealed before the base game even launched—though this is common for game developers. Despite this, the game is expected to receive a combination of free and paid updates soon. TopMob gave Pokémon Legends Z-A a 7 out of 10 in their review, describing it as a strong conclusion to the Pokémon games on the original Nintendo Switch.
