The Pokémon Company recently shared more details about Mega Dimension, the first big downloadable expansion for Pokémon Legends Z-A. This DLC introduces some of the most significant changes the Pokémon series has ever seen.
For the very first time in the series, Pokémon Legends Z-A will feature opponents stronger than the usual level 100, creating a brand new endgame challenge for players.
Launching officially on December 10, 2025, the new expansion includes a deeper story, several new areas to explore, and the surprising addition of two Mega Evolutions.
Mega Dimension is breaking Pokemon history
The newest trailer for the DLC reveals that Mega Dimension continues the story after the main game and takes players to a warped version of Lumiose City called Hyperspace Lumiose. This strange new area is a result of dimensional rifts created by Hoopa.
This city is designed for challenging battles, especially against incredibly powerful Pokémon. These aren’t just stronger versions of Pokémon you’ve seen before; they’re built to be far more powerful than anything in the main game, forcing you to rethink your strategies, team compositions, and how much you prepare for each fight.
Raichu is getting two new Mega Evolutions—one X and one Y—joining Charizard and Mewtwo as the only Pokémon with two Mega forms. Plus, Baxcalibur and Chimecho will also gain Mega Evolutions, and many familiar Pokémon from the Kalos region will be included in the game.
Mega Dimension is a major update for Legends Z-A, designed to revitalize the endgame experience. It introduces challenging opponents over level 100, battles featuring dual Mega Evolutions, altered environments, and an entirely new city for players to discover, promising continued engagement.
You can buy the downloadable content now, but you won’t be able to play it until you finish the main game – it becomes available on December 10th.
