Pokemon is coming to Hytale thanks to Minecraft modders PokeFind

Fans will soon be able to play Pokémon within Hytale, thanks to mods created by the community. The PokeFind team, known for its Pokémon experience in Minecraft, is adapting their work for Hypixel Studios’ sandbox RPG.

PokeFind revealed early looks at Pokémon characters inside the game Hytale through a post on X (formerly Twitter). They also announced that more significant updates are coming soon. The brief video showed the original Kanto Pokémon – Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charizard, Squirtle, and Blastoise – reimagined with Hytale’s unique art style.

We’re thrilled to announce that Pokémon are coming to #Hytale! 🎉 For over eight years, we’ve created a complete Pokémon experience within Minecraft. We’ve been incredibly impressed by the work of @Simon_Hypixel and the @Hytale team, and we can’t wait to bring PokeFind to their new game. Stay tuned for some exciting updates! 👀

Pokefind is popular within the Minecraft community because it lets players enjoy Pokemon gameplay without needing to download and install mods. Unlike other popular options like Pixelmon or Cobblemon which require changes to the game on your computer, Pokefind uses special plugins on its servers, along with custom textures and original 3D models created using software like Blockbench.

For almost ten years, Pokefind has been able to connect players on both Java and Bedrock editions, even those using consoles and mobile phones.

Gotta catch ’em all in Hytale

The team aims to recreate that same creative approach in Hytale. They’ve demonstrated their capabilities before – within Minecraft, they’ve successfully built entire Pokémon regions complete with characters, stories, battles, character progression, and even survival challenges like Pokémon Skyblock. While specific plans for Hytale are still being developed, this past work shows what they’re capable of.

The developers have said they plan to add similar features to Hytale as the game continues to be developed.

We’ve updated our Pokémon models based on your feedback to fit the look and feel of Hytale! Check out the before and after – what do you think?

I was reading Reddit and one of the PokeFind developers said they’ve been working on this inside regular Minecraft for over eight years! They’ve already got everything built – all the stuff they need – so it’s basically just a matter of getting it working on this new version. It’s really exciting to hear they’re so prepared!

Right now, our priority is to quickly launch a first version and then improve it based on feedback from our users.

As a Hytale fan, it’s awesome to see the game growing so much since it entered early access! It’s really cool that modders are already building huge things and adding to the official updates Hypixel Studios is releasing. It feels like the community is really getting involved and shaping the game, which is exciting!

There’s no confirmed date for when this will be released. Because of copyright restrictions, it probably won’t be available on official mod websites. Like previous projects with Pokemon in Minecraft, you might need to join certain servers to play it in Hytale.
