The new Pokemon Go season, ‘Forever Forward,’ will add a lot of exciting content to the game, including plans for Go Fest 2026, the introduction of new Mega Evolutions, and the first appearances of Dynamax Pokemon.
Okay, so I’m super hyped because Mega Mewtwo X and Y are finally hitting Pokémon GO! Plus, there are new Max Battle challenges coming, they’ve revamped the Daily Discoveries, and a fresh season of Go Battle League is about to start. It’s gonna be a busy time for trainers like me!
With rotating Raids, special Community Days, and exciting seasonal events, Forever Forward gives Pokémon Trainers plenty of reasons to keep playing all summer long.
Check the season dates, events, tasks, juicy rewards, and all the details.
Pokemon Go Forever Forward season: Dates & time
The Forever Forward season will begin on June 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM local time and end on September 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM local time.
This event builds on the previous ‘Memories in Motion’ season, which introduced Gigantamax Pikachu and the Pokémon Flittle, Espathra, Dottler, and Orbeetle.
Pokemon debuts
Ever since the ‘Max Out’ season added Dynamax and Gigantamax forms to Pokémon Go, new Pokémon with these special transformations have been appearing in the game.
The first new Pokémon of the season will be added during Go Fest, with the arrival of Mewtwo and its two Mega Evolutions: Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y.
Along with the new Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Legends Z-A – Mega Raichu X, Mega Raichu Y, and Mega Skarmory – will be added to Niantic’s Pokémon GO later in the season.
Plus, players can look forward to Dynamax versions of Electabuzz, Magikarp, and Feebas, with even more Pokémon likely to be added in the future.
Big returns
Popular Legendary Pokémon are coming back to the game! You’ll be able to battle Reshiram, Zekrom, and Necrozma in Raid battles. Meanwhile, Lugia, Ho-Oh, and Latias will be available through the monthly GO Pass.
Daily Discoveries
With the launch of the Memories in Motion season, Pokémon Go added Daily Discoveries. This feature offers different bonuses each day of the week, lasting from midnight to 11:59 PM local time, unless otherwise noted.
Here are the changes that will be applied during the current season:

Max Battles will take place between 6 and 9 PM in your local time zone. Power Spots will only be available on Max Mondays and during Max Battle events.
Just a heads-up for my fellow Pokémon Go players! Daily Discoveries won’t be running during the big events like Global Go Fest, Go Wild Area, and Go Tour. So, we’ll have to focus all our energy on those awesome events instead!
Research Breakthrough
Players can earn special encounters with Pokémon by finishing Field Research tasks. These encounters will feature one of several Pokémon.
