As a dedicated Pokemon Go player with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of amusement and concern regarding the recent glitch involving the Allister Mask. Having gone through numerous updates, bugs, and glitches myself, I understand the frustration that comes with game crashes, especially when it’s due to an aesthetic choice like clothing combinations.
In Pokemon Go, there are numerous customizable outfits available for your character, yet pairing specific attires might cause the application to malfunction; however, this issue is likely to be addressed following any updates from Niantic.
Pokemon Go has a reputation for having various glitches, the majority of which are harmless like textures not loading correctly or characters appearing overlapped in amusing manners. However, some can be quite problematic, such as the Roar of Time consuming resources unnecessarily or causing players to miss out on Raid rewards due to connection issues.
A recurring issue that some players have encountered previously has surfaced once more, as per reports from users on The Silph Road Reddit. Specifically, problems arise when using the Allister Mask in conjunction with specific game items within Pokemon Go, which may result in the game crashing.

Pokemon Go’s Allister Mask can glitch the game
During the Pokemon Go Max Out season, the Allister clothing collection was offered for purchase. To acquire the Allister Mask, players needed to reach the Veteran Rank before December 3rd. Given that this was a challenging objective, many gamers might have missed the opportunity to obtain the mask.
However, as reported online, people who combine the Allister Mask with the Wooloo Jacket from Pokemon Go’s Holiday 2024 Part 2 event, as well as the Giratina Hat, Solgaleo Hat, or Cetoddle Hat, can crash the game when the Avatar is viewed.
Users in the discussion hypothesized that this mix might be exploited to create Gyms that are unconquerable, since clicking on them would cause the glitched avatar to appear and cause the game to crash. This would undoubtedly amuse pranksters, but they wouldn’t gain much from it because you only receive PokeCoins upon defeating a Pokemon at a Gym. In simpler terms, this trick might cause some fun for trolls, but it wouldn’t earn them any rewards in the game.
It’s possible that Niantic hasn’t recognized this problem yet since the Allister Mask is not commonly found, but if someone exploits this glitch to disrupt others’ gameplay, it needs to be addressed promptly. Ideally, they’ll tackle the issue before it escalates. Fingers crossed!
