Today, Battlefield 6 Season 1 launched, and while it aimed to excite fans, the response was mixed. A major point of contention was the new Blackwell Fields map, which players found too small and open for effective air combat. Players reported that anti-aircraft vehicles could easily eliminate pilots immediately after they respawned, even from the vehicle’s base. Despite these issues, the developers have assured players that more updates are coming, including the launch of Battlefield RedSec.
Players complain about Blackwell Fields
A Reddit user shared a video highlighting a problem with the new map. The clip clearly shows a player being targeted and shot down almost immediately after launching into the air. Players are criticizing the developers of Battlefield 6, claiming they didn’t properly test the Blackwell Fields map before its release. Many fans are calling it the worst map ever created for the game.
Fan feedback may lead to necessary changes in the game. We saw this happen recently when players disliked the bright, new skins planned for release, fearing they would clash with the game’s realistic style. As one person pointed out, the cosmetic items, created in partnership with Monster Energy, were adjusted to be much more subtle, and their colors were made less distracting.
