Players complain about desync in Anno 117. If you play multiplayer, be prepared for crashes but devs are working to solve it

Anno 117: Pax Romana is the latest game in a long-running series where you build and manage a city in ancient Rome. In this installment, you’ll expand your empire by taking over islands and developing your own thriving city. You can also play with friends and other players online in various modes, including player-versus-player battles, cooperative play, and even team-based campaigns. However, many players have reported issues with the online experience, specifically problems with synchronization that make playing with others challenging. Let’s dive into those issues!

Desync in Anno 117 multiplayer explained

Anno 117 offers fun ways to compete economically with friends, with lots of different game modes to choose from. However, many players are unable to enjoy this feature, even if they’d like to, because of problems with the game losing synchronization between players.

Players are frequently encountering an error while playing with friends, which says: “A multiplayer dependency is currently unavailable. Please try again later: [TRAJAN-131661-01].” Restarting the game doesn’t fix the issue, as the error always comes back after a short time, and it often happens when they’re nearing the end of the game.

Currently, there isn’t a fix for this problem. However, the developers know about it and have mentioned it in their latest blog post about known issues. A team is already working on a solution, though it’s not available yet.

So, for the time being, please be patient. You’re welcome to keep trying to play with others online, but we can’t guarantee everything will run perfectly just yet.
