Player falls through map and discovers a secret tower where Johnny Silverhand’s flashbacks took place

Cyberpunk 2077 had a rocky start with many technical problems, but those issues are largely a thing of the past thanks to the developers at CD Projekt Red who worked hard to fix them. While the game is much more stable now, occasional glitches still pop up, sometimes in strange ways. Recently, a player experienced a bizarre bug where they fell through the city and landed inside a tower that fans will recognize from Johnny Silverhand’s memories.

A Reddit user, Proper-Good-2151, posted a video of a strange glitch in the game. Their character fell through the scenery and ended up in an area below the city, seemingly a part of the Arasaka Tower complex seen in a flashback. The user explored this hidden area but didn’t find anything significant, though they were able to survive falls that normally would have killed their character. They eventually had to load an older save file to get out of the glitch.

It’s not unexpected that Arasaka Tower is hidden beneath Night City—CD Projekt Red frequently conceals locations under the usual map layers. As user Zhuul noted, they did something similar in The Witcher 3, like the dimension created by the villain Gaunter O’Dim, which is accessible on the edge of the Velen region.

Cyberpunk 2077 first came out on December 10, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It became available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S starting February 15, 2022. Most recently, on June 5th, the Ultimate edition was released for Nintendo Switch 2.
