The team includes experienced developers who previously worked at Coffee Stain Studios, the creators of popular games like Goat Simulator. They’re currently developing a farming game called Among The Wild, but they unexpectedly released a new, unannounced game on Steam today.
A wild ride home
RV There Yet? is a brand new game that’s quickly becoming popular. The core idea is simple: you and your friends are on a road trip in an RV, but everything that can go wrong, probably will! Expect hilarious chaos thanks to realistic physics and full co-op play with voice chat. If you enjoyed games like Peak, Chained Together, or R.E.P.O., you’ll definitely love this one.
Things can really go sideways, but that’s where friends come in handy. If you work together and think creatively, you should be able to fix your car pretty quickly, don’t you think?
Why the name “secret game”? The developers intentionally kept the announcement quiet, revealing it only a week before release as a surprise. However, the Steam page went live early, someone discovered it, and news quickly spread online. Before launch, the game gained almost 70,000 wishlists.
It’s unclear how long RV There Yet? was in development, or why the team paused their earlier project to work on it, but it appears to have been a good decision. The game quickly attracted over 14,000 players after release, and most reviews have been positive. The biggest issues players are reporting are bugs and glitches, which can sometimes be charming in a game like this, but become frustrating when they happen too often.
With a few small fixes, this game has the potential to be a breakout hit on Steam this October. It’s a chaotic experience best enjoyed with friends, featuring a great soundtrack, lots of cigarettes, and plenty of mayhem.
