Phasmophobia: How To Complete Apocalypse Challenge

As a seasoned ghost hunter with years of paranormal investigations under my belt, I must say that the Apocalypse Challenge on Sunny Meadows is no joke. It’s a test of wits, strategy, and nerves that only the bravest souls dare to undertake.

Conquering the Apocalypse Trial in Phasmophobia represents the ultimate ordeal for veteran ghost trackers. This trial, renowned as one of the toughest in the game, will put your skills to their utmost test. Overcoming it is the path to claiming the final few accolades within the game. To face this formidable undertaking, you’ll have to venture into a solo gaming session on the entire Sunny Meadows map. Here’s how to endure the fear and master the challenge, step by step.

Phasmophobia Apocalypse Challenge Setup & Difficulty

To conquer the Apocalypse mission, you must manage to spot the ghost lurking on Sunny Meadows and make it through alive, but remember, you can only do this in a solo game session. Furthermore, achieving the challenge involves finishing all three additional tasks, and capturing a ghost’s image for your Journal as proof.

In addition, you’ll find yourself without any Sanity, and unfortunately, you won’t be able to boost it using Sanity Pills as well.

Depending on the custom difficulty you choose, you’ll earn a different badge tier:

  • 6x – Bronze (Apocalypse I)
  • 10x – Silver (Apocalypse II)

  • 15x – Gold (Apocalypse III)

To finish all the tiers simultaneously, you must first conquer the Apocalypse III (or the Gold Challenge), as completing this higher level will automatically grant completion of all levels below it.

The complexity of this game lies in the fact that Sunny Meadows is an expansive playfield. Ramping up the difficulty setting will make the game significantly tougher, as the ghost becomes more active and the amount of evidence obtained decreases.

Phasmophobia Apocalypse Challenge Rewards

To conquer each level in the challenge, you’ll be rewarded with a trophy – specifically, a “Bronze End-Times Trophy”, a “Silver End-Times Trophy”, and a “Gold End-Times Trophy”.

You’ll also get a shiny new ID card and badge!

How To Complete Phasmophobia Apocalypse Challenge

Sunny Meadows Map

Exploring Sunny Meadows is like navigating a massive puzzle, making it tricky to locate the ghost within. Its complex network of corridors and multiple chambers can make the search seem daunting. To complicate matters further, you can’t complete this mission on the restricted version of the map. You’ll need to tackle the entire layout head-on. Being patient and thorough as you traverse this expansive area is crucial for success.

To locate the haunted room, it might be beneficial to pay attention to any noises; if you hear a ghost moving or interacting with something, follow the sound’s source. An Electromagnetic Field (EMF) detector can also guide you effectively, particularly if you’ve already got some clues about where to look.

By waving a thermometer and identifying areas with temperatures close to freezing, or colder than other parts of the room, you might be able to more accurately locate the possible presence of a spirit.

After discovering the haunted room, it is crucial to arrange Video Cameras, scatter DOTS Projection devices, and other essential gear. Keep a close watch as the ghost might shift locations; if you notice a lack of evidence, the ghost could have relocated.

Apocalypse Challenge Equipment

Make sure you gather all necessary Tier III equipment before embarking on Sunny Meadows for the Apocalypse Challenge. Failing to do so might make the challenge excessively tough, as while Tier I and II items can work, they require more time to produce results and thus carry higher risks.

It would be wise to pack some form of headgear that serves as a light source, alongside your usual collection of tools for discovering evidence (such as DOTS, Spirit Box, Ghost Writing Book, and so on). Don’t forget to include incense and a lighter in your gear, just in case you need to safeguard yourself during an encounter.

Strategies for Identifying The Ghost

To pinpoint the ghost first, make sure to search for possible hiding and returning points after determining its position. This will give you a safe spot to retreat to if the ghost becomes active – which could occur quite quickly given that your Sanity is 0% throughout this quest.

When a ghost is on the prowl, it’s crucial to closely observe its actions, such as its speed, blinking pattern, and unique behaviors, because you’ll require more than just proof to pinpoint the ghost in this case. For instance, if you observe that the ghost appears to be moving or tossing several objects around, you might be able to deduce it’s a Poltergeist.

Keep an eye out for distinct characteristics of spectral activities while determining a ghost’s identity during the Apocalypse Quest: These characteristics might offer valuable clues.

GhostBehavior
JinnCannot use its ability, including breaker interaction; Jinn has no distinctive tells in this mode, and can only be identified through process of elimination.
MareStill interacts with light switches normally, even though breaker cannot be turned on; a ghost that interacts with light switches cannot be a Mare.
BansheeRoam less than usual, but still produce distinctive Parabolic Microphone scream.
GoryoCannot change ghost room.

Armed with those strategies, tips, and shortcuts, you’re now ready to take on the Sunny Meadows test personally. By doing so, you can collect the Apocalypse Challenge emblems and trophies. These badges are among the hardest to obtain in the game, so congratulations if you successfully conquer this challenge!
