Pete Davidson Says He is ‘Very Happy’ After Taking a Step Back From Acting: ‘I Got Hit On the Face With the Hollywood Shovel’

As a supporter and admirer of Pete Davidson‘s resilience and determination, I must say that his journey has been nothing short of inspiring. The 31-year-old comedian, who once graced our screens on Saturday Night Live for eight seasons, has now found solace in the less glamorous but equally fulfilling world of sock branding with Doublesoul.

Pete Davidson has found his peace after taking a step back from the limelight.

31-year-old humorist Davidson parted ways with “Saturday Night Live” in 2022 after an impressive eight-season stint on the renowned comedy series. Currently, he holds the position of Creative Director at the sock company DoubleSoul.

He shared that one reason for stepping away from Hollywood was partly due to the unfavorable media attention he experienced after some of his prominent celebrity relationships, including those with Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian, attracted criticism.

He shared that he received an unexpected blow to the face from the Hollywood shovel,” he said to W. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for quite some time, and it was overdue. At present, I’m in a great mental state, and I’m really content.

Davidson further expressed that he strives to be recognized for his meaningful contributions, whether in film, stand-up comedy, charity work, or business endeavors. He emphasized, “It’s the moments when I want to be acknowledged. I don’t wish to be seen as a mere dating partner. That’s not my identity.

Davidson shared that during the initial stages of his career, he often found himself compelled to accept every offer presented to him. However, as he’s grown older and more experienced, he has learned to make wiser decisions.

Davidson commented, “Every few years, the media selects a group of celebrities and tears them down ruthlessly.” He added, “I find myself among those they’ve targeted. It’s ironically fortunate since it gave me an opportunity to reconsider my path. I’m a guy from Staten Island, pursuing stand-up comedy, and if I could achieve anything more due to comedy, it was nothing short of amazing.

Davidson has decided to forgo his upcoming stand-up shows in July. Instead, he chose to seek treatment at a health and wellness center.
