Persona 5: The Phantom X version 3.0 update adds Frostgale Kotone with a new main story episode

Persona 5: The Phantom X has received a significant update, bringing both the Japanese and Western versions of the game to version 3.0. The update adds new story episodes and areas to explore within Palaces, plus a new in-game event featuring a special 5-star version of Kotone “Mont” Montagne called Frostgale.

This major update introduces a new battle mode called Trial of the Astrolabe. This mode will challenge players with battles featuring unique rules, and each character will have a limited number of uses within these battles. We’re also launching Lufel’s Business Plan EX, a feature previously announced for new servers, now available with this update.

Check out the new trailers and patch notes below! Persona 5: The Phantom X is now available on PC, iOS, and Android worldwide. Just a quick note for players in Southeast Asia: the servers were briefly aligned with the global Christmas update (which added Justine and Caroline), but are now falling behind again and are expected to receive the 3.0 update about 8 days after everyone else.

We’ve added Lufel’s “Business” Plan EX! You’ll unlock it after finishing all the missions and claiming all rewards in Lufel’s “Business” Plan IV. Completing each mission gives you useful items like Meta Jewels and training materials. Plus, completing a set number of missions unlocks even more great rewards.

Okay, so there are some new rewards we can snag! First up is the Wonder Weapon Enhancement Box – I can use shards from that to either get my hands on some awesome 5-star weapons or Joy Medals. Then there’s the Rank VIII Persona Box, where I can earn seals to unlock certain Rank VIII Personas or Repression Medal IV. Finally, there’s the Artisan’s Mod Order Piece. I need to collect 60 shards of those to trade for a full Artisan’s Mod Order, which I can then use to forge another 5-star weapon. Sounds like a good grind!

We’re excited to announce a new battle mode called Trial of the Astrolabe! This mode lets you earn materials to improve your Mindscape by completing different stages. Each attempt costs Willpower, and each Phantom Thief has a limit on how many times they can participate. Don’t worry if you don’t beat a stage right away – your progress carries over, so you can keep trying! The Trial of the Astrolabe will be available until 7:59 PM UTC on February 4, 2026. Stay tuned for more details in a future announcement.

We’re improving the Mindscape system, which lets you strengthen your Phantom Thieves! By upgrading the outer rings of a Thief’s Mindscape, you’ll unlock inner rings. These inner rings then allow you to improve either their skills or stats. You can find the materials needed for these upgrades in the Trial of the Astrolabe, by leveling up 5-star Thieves, and within the Realm of Repression: Pursuit of Starshot.

I was so excited to see that they’ve added new rewards for leveling up my Phantom Thieves! Now, when they hit levels 75 and 80 (besides the main character, of course), I’ll get some extra goodies. Apparently, these rewards are special materials to help me out with the expanded Mindscape system. Definitely going to check the game for all the details, but this is a great update!

Thieves’ Secrets: Mont’s Special Missions are available until 1:59 AM UTC on January 22, 2026. We’ll share more information soon.

A new weapon, the Abyss Fang, is now available for the main character. You can find it and the materials needed to create it – Abyss Fang Shards – as rewards for exploring the new area in Chapter 3’s Palace. Additionally, Abyss Fang Shards will be added to the Companion Coin and Star Crystal shops, so you can purchase them there as well.

Hey everyone, just a quick update on Space Revelation Cards! They’re adding Freedom and Creation as options for exchanging items that give you cards like the Orange Fortune Revelation and Unknown Orange Revelation S. So, you’ll have more ways to snag those cards now, which is awesome!
