Pepsico changes logo for first time in nearly 30 years & fans will never recognize it

PepsiCo updated its logo after 25 years, and many people aren’t sure about the new design.

PepsiCo is giving its brands a fresh new look, starting with Lay’s Potato Chips, which received a makeover in early October.

The familiar bright yellow bags of chips are being replaced, and the recipe is changing too. PepsiCo is working to make the snacks healthier.

PepsiCo’s recent rebranding is just the first step in a larger makeover. They’ve unveiled a new logo after 25 years, but it’s a significant departure from their familiar look and may take some getting used to for customers.

New Pepsi logo is a huge change from the original

On November 3, 2025, Pepsi unveiled a redesigned logo. Moving away from its classic red, white, and blue globe, the new design features a simple white lowercase ‘p’ encircled by an orange leaf, a green swirl, and a blue droplet. Underneath the logo, the slogan “Food. Drinks. Smiles.” appears.

PepsiCo just unveiled its most significant logo redesign in its 60-year history. The company shared a visual showing how the logo has evolved over time.

For over three decades, from 1965 to 2001, Pepsico’s logo always included a red and blue sphere. In 2001, they updated the logo to use those colors as highlights on a globe alongside the ‘Pepsico’ name. Today’s logo has moved away from both the red and blue coloring and the bold, block-style letters that were previously common in their branding.

I was reading PepsiCo’s blog, and they explained their new logo isn’t just a fresh design – it’s meant to show where the company is headed! They said it really represents their energy, positive outlook, and goals for 2025 and the future. It feels like a big shift for them!

PepsiCo’s Chairman and CEO, Ramon Laguarta, explained that the updated branding represents the company’s vision for 2025: a global leader committed to making a positive difference with a diverse and popular portfolio of food and beverage brands.

I was really interested to hear what the new logo is all about! Apparently, the orange leaf stands for food and grains, which makes sense. And get this – the green swoosh is actually a smile! They said the blue droplet represents drinks and water, and the little light green leaf under the ‘p’ in Pepsi is all about them trying to do good for people and the planet. It’s cool to see the thought they put into it.

This food chain’s new branding follows similar recent overhauls by Domino’s and Cracker Barrel. However, Cracker Barrel’s remodel proved unpopular and was ultimately reversed after receiving significant criticism.
