What happens in The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer?
The new trailer for The Mandalorian brings back Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin and features Grogu, affectionately known as Baby Yoda. The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver, Johnny Coyne, and Jeremy Allen White, who plays a character named Rotta the Hutt.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Favreau explained that the movie aims to please longtime fans of both the show and Star Wars while also attracting a new generation of viewers. He specifically mentioned that bringing characters like Grogu to the big screen is a way to introduce the story to children and a wider audience, offering a fresh adventure for everyone.
I’m so excited! It feels like forever since we’ve seen a Star Wars movie in theaters – the last one was *The Rise of Skywalker* back in 2019. But now, *The Mandalorian* and Grogu are getting the big-screen treatment, which is amazing! The only other Star Wars film currently planned is Shawn Levy’s *Starfighter*, coming out in 2027. They just started filming it, and it’s going to star Ryan Gosling, Aaron Pierre, Amy Adams, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Flynn Gray, and a whole bunch of other great actors!
The new movie featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in US cinemas on May 22, 2026. You can currently watch the first three seasons of The Mandalorian on Disney+.
