Landfall, the developer of Peak, announced in a new video that the long-awaited forest area will be added to the game on November 5th. This update, called ‘Roots,’ may also include additional content throughout November.
The quick video preview shows the new area will be a thick forest with tall, redwood-inspired trees, hanging vines, and spiders that can pull players around. There will also be wooden buildings built into the trees, and various mushrooms throughout the landscape.
Landfall hasn’t revealed many details about the upcoming update on social media or Steam. Players are now guessing what new badges will be included, which environment the new map will feature in the daily rotation, and what other secrets it might hold.
I was so excited about the last big update – the mesa biome was amazing, with all those tornadoes and intense heat! It swapped places with the alpine biome, and now everyone’s thinking the next update will switch things up with the tropics. Since the tropics come right after the shore – where you start the game – that seems like a really logical next step. I’m really hoping that’s what happens!
The game has recently been updated with new badges and environments. Following the challenging “mesa” update, players expect another set of badges to earn next month.
