The creators of Peak have announced that the next new area, called the Roots, will be available on November 5th – that’s less than a week away! In Peak, players climb to the summit by completing four different areas. Currently, those areas are the Shore, the Tropics, and either the Mesa or Alpine, followed by the final Caldera. A short, 20-second trailer offers a sneak peek at the Roots biome.
Peak’s next biome arrives next week and will be on rotation with the Tropics
It’s only been six months since the game Peak came out, and already a second new area has been added! The first, the Mesa, was released in August and briefly replaced the Alpine area before they both started appearing on different days. Thanks to the game developers, Aggro Crab, we now know the new Roots area will rotate with the Tropics. We can likely expect the Roots to be featured for about a week when it launches, just like the Mesa, before it joins the regular rotation schedule.
This brief trailer doesn’t reveal much about the Roots, but it shows a misty forest with lots of mushrooms and pine trees. We see two players on a tree platform, and then a spider silently pulls one of them away. It’s clear this new area will be filled with dangerous obstacles and creatures that will make climbing challenging. Interestingly, vines are visible in the background, suggesting that some features from the Tropics might also be included.
Good news for Peak players! The next biome will be released on November 5th – that’s less than a week away. It will likely be a free update, similar to previous ones. Players seem excited, with one commenter saying it’s great to see the game returning to its original style after the last update.
