Peacemaker Season 2 needs to answer a big ‘Earth X’ question about Superman

Peacemaker Season 2 takes place in an alternate dimension officially named ‘Earth X’ (or a variation of it). Now that we know this, let’s discuss how it connects to Superman. Be warned – spoilers ahead!

For the first six episodes, things were looking up in this alternate reality. Chris had a kind and supportive father, his brother was still living, Harcourt reciprocated his feelings, and Peacemaker hadn’t killed Rick Flag Jr.

As many suspected, the truth about this world has come to light: it’s Earth X, a parallel universe where the Nazis won World War II. This means the American flag features a swastika instead of stars, and people of color are nowhere to be seen – their fate, and even if they exist at all, remains disturbingly unknown.

It seems like in this scenario, everyone is portrayed as a Nazi, while the ‘Top Trio’ are seen as heroes. This raises the question of how other well-known characters, such as Superman, would fit into this world.

Will Peacemaker Season 2 include Overman?

Peacemaker hasn’t confirmed if alternate versions of other DC characters, such as Lex Luthor or Rick Flag, exist. But now that we know the show takes place on Earth X, there’s a possibility Superman could appear with a surprising reveal.

The Earth X comic series features a version of Superman called Overman (also known as Kal-L). His story closely mirrors the original: he’s sent to Earth from Krypton as a baby, but instead of landing in Kansas, he lands in Sudetenland. This leads him to become the most powerful figure – a sort of ‘hero’ – leading the Fourth Reich.

In the comics, the character explains his origins: he arrived on Earth in 1938 as a baby, sent in a rocket from the planet Krypton, landing in a region of Czechoslovakia then occupied by Germany. He reveals that German scientists studied his rocket’s technology, which helped fuel their war effort. As a result, he and others like him now live in a seemingly perfect world, but one that was built on the pain and suffering of humanity. He emphasizes that this world is vastly different from anything we know.

Yeah I’m pretty sure we’re getting Overman from Earth 10 soon #Peacemaker

Many believe David Corenswet will be in the second season of the show, particularly after John Cena shared a photo with him taken on set. James Gunn has also hinted at a major cameo appearing towards the end of the season.

Corenswet’s version of Superman could still make an appearance, and it would be a fitting welcome for Chris if he returned home to see the world’s greatest hero offer a friendly gesture.

Even for a short time, seeing David Corenswet play a Nazi version of Superman would be both powerful and unsettling, and it’s hard to argue with how impactful that would be.

One viewer expressed excitement about seeing David Corenswet play Overman in the season finale. Another fan strongly urged the creators to include an appearance by Overman in the show *Peacemaker*.
