The season finale of Peacemaker resolves several ongoing plot points and introduces new ones, but a surprising event in the final episode surprisingly links back to an unpleasant joke from the very beginning of the series.
In Season 2 of Peacemaker, Christopher Smith travels to a different dimension and realizes his loved ones are still back on Earth.
The season’s final episode ended on a suspenseful note, hinting at what’s to come for Superman in the next film, “Man of Tomorrow,” and the wider DC Universe.
A very intense scene in Episode 8 actually connects to a quick comment made way back in Episode 1. Be warned: spoilers follow…
Imps play dirty in Peacemaker Episode 8

Harcourt and her team were exploring other dimensions using the Quantum Unfolding Chamber when they stumbled into a world that appeared to be made entirely of candy.
Things aren’t what they appear to be in this strange place. Small figures rush through the grass, quickly revealed to be attacking Imps.
The attackers easily defeated the A.R.G.U.S. agents, using punches and kicks. The violence escalated to a horrifying point when one attacker broke through an agent’s helmet and bit off his face.
Another Imp began inappropriately mounting Langston Fleury’s helmet, prompting the agent to exclaim in disbelief. This strange behavior hinted that a seemingly unbelievable story Auggie Smith shared earlier in the series might actually be true…
Auggie’s disgusting Imp story was true!
When Chris Smith arrives on Earth X, he joins his father, Auggie, and brother, Keith, for drinks. During their time together, he hears a funny story about when he was eleven years old and was playfully chased around the house by creatures called Imps.
Keith discovered a decaying imp inside his car months later. Auggie responded with an even more disturbing story: he found something sticky in his cereal the next morning and suspected one of the creatures had…contaminated it.
Keith is skeptical, dismissing the story as Auggie’s typical exaggeration. However, James Gunn, the writer and director of Peacemaker, confirmed on the show’s official podcast that the events of Episode 8 back up what was said.
We first heard about this location during a casual mention in Episode 1 of the current season. Auggie Smith was recounting a story about young Chris visiting Imp World and attempting to steal a large peppermint stick. Chris brought several Imps back with him, and they ended up chasing him and his family around the house, forcing Keith and Auggie to eliminate them.
When you encounter these mischievous creatures, you start to think, ‘Wow, maybe Auggie wasn’t exaggerating. Maybe one of them really did something inappropriate in his breakfast cereal!’
