Starbreeze is launching a Payday 2 subscription that gives players access to a large collection of downloadable content (DLC). It costs $5 per month, or $20 for six months-the six-month option saves you 33% compared to the monthly price. Currently, there isn’t a yearly subscription available.
This subscription gives you access to over 65 downloadable content (DLC) packs for Payday 2, including new heists, weapons, and customization options. You can still purchase these DLC packs separately if you prefer; the subscription is just another way to get them.
According to Starbreeze CEO Gustav Nisser, the Payday 2 subscription is designed to let players enjoy the game in a way that suits them best. Currently, it’s only offered through Steam.
Payday 2 was first released in 2013. Its sequel, Payday 3, launched in 2023, but suffered from major server problems at launch. Unlike Payday 2, which received overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, Payday 3 has only received mixed reviews.
Fans seem to prefer Payday 2 over Payday 3, as it currently has significantly more daily players.
