Paul Danan, Actor and Reality Star Known for ‘Hollyoaks,’ Dies at 46

It is with sadness that we report the passing of Paul Danan, a well-recognized British actor and television personality, primarily remembered for his performances in the U.K.’s soap opera “Hollyoaks.” At the time of his death, he was 46 years old.

Danan’s reps at Independent Creative Management confirmed the news in a statement.

Known for his vibrant TV personality, remarkable skills, and endless kindness, Paul was a shining light to many. His sudden departure will create unfillable gaps in the lives of everyone who knew him.

No cause of death was given.

As a teenager, Danan made an appearance in the extended series “Hollyoaks” on Channel 4, portraying the character of Sol Patrick, a distressed young man. From 1997 to 2001, he was a regular cast member on this show.

Apart from that, he was featured in the British children’s series titled “The Queen’s Nose” and “The Basil Brush Show”, as well as the medical drama known as “Casualty.

Eventually, Danan established a regular presence in the world of reality television, featuring on various programs such as “Dinner Together with Famous People,” “Famous Hearts in Paradise” and “Famous Housemates.

In June last year, the actor shared his harrowing experience with British newspaper The Sun. He admitted that his vaping addiction had led to a critical health issue – respiratory failure – which required him to be in intensive care for a week. According to reports, he was at home using his vape when suddenly he felt he couldn’t breathe and fainted. His family called an ambulance, began CPR, and even the police were involved before paramedics took him to the hospital. He was connected to a machine in the ICU and contracted pneumonia. His family was warned that his condition might prove fatal. However, he survived and expressed his gratitude for his good fortune.

He is survived by his 8-year-old son Deniro.
