As a seasoned Path of Exile player with countless hours under my belt, I must say that the latest patch 0.1.0d has been quite the rollercoaster ride! The doge buff and the change in passive block ability have certainly added a new dimension to gameplay, making it easier for us to navigate through tight spots and survive those unexpected ambushes. However, the nerf on Rain of Arrows and Firestorm is a bit of a bummer; I guess even the mighty archer needs a break sometimes!
The updates that Grinding Gear Games studio has unveiled for Path of Exile 2 have been made public. You can now download Patch 0.1.0d on your PC, as well as on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 platforms.
In the forum discussion for the game series, it was mentioned that among various adjustments, there’s an upcoming enhancement for doges (dodges). Here’s a quick heads-up: Characters controlled by players will now have the agility to slip through tight spaces between adversaries, and rolling will shove back smaller foes as well. This update is intended to minimize situations where players get stuck in close combat with mobs, unless a solid mass of enemies (the “living wall”) blocks their exit path.
Besides the adjustments made after the recent nerfs, players also benefited in an unexpected way. To the astonishment of some Early Access gamers, the passive block ability has been expanded to shield attacks from all angles, not just frontal ones. Previously, some players were perplexed as to why their characters continued to sustain heavy damage despite possessing this skill, but now the confusion has been cleared up.
To ensure fairness, the update version 0.1.0d introduces another adjustment as well. Specifically, the skills Rain of Arrows and Firestorm now have a restricted chance to hit. This change primarily impacts battles with large bosses, which have been easily defeated using these abilities so far. However, in encounters with lesser enemies, the potency of these powers will continue unaffected.
Luckily, the update not only incorporated some modest enhancements but also numerous refinements. These range from enhanced search capabilities for farming and deals with merchants, all the way to boosted income from rune trading, and toning down the tougher Ultimatum adversaries.
Users have expressed satisfaction with another update in the first week following the launch of Early Access for Path of Exile 2. As a result, developers are being urged to consider temporarily lowering or even eliminating the cost associated with respec – a feature that allows players to undo all character upgrades and start fresh. This request is particularly relevant for those who use abilities that have been toned down.
Some enthusiasts opt to embark on the journey all over again. They justify this by stating that it’s during Early Access, so alterations like these aren’t uncommon. Given that the developers have expressed a preference for addressing issues early rather than allowing players to become accustomed to a “faulty” feature, such changes are not unexpected.
