Paris Blockchain Week Steals Dubai’s Crypto Thunder (But Adds More Baguettes)

April event expected to draw thousands as industry reshuffles its spring conference calendar.

The cancellation of Token 2049 Dubai has sent the crypto world into a tizzy like a cat in a room full of laser pointers, with companies scrambling to pivot to Paris Blockchain Week like it’s the last buffet before the rapture. April 15-16: bring your wallet, leave your dignity at the door.

Token 2049, that grand ol’ titan of crypto conferences, had Dubai all set for a spectacle… until it ghosted like a NFT artist in 2022. Now founders, investors, and institutions-those poor souls who already booked flights and suites-are frantically Googling “how to network with a croissant in hand.” Paris Blockchain Week, apparently, is the answer.

Paris Blockchain Week, now in its seventh year, has become the blockchainsque equivalent of a Michelin-starred dinner: fancy, confusing, and slightly overpriced. This year’s event promises 7,000 attendees, including crypto’s A-listers (Coinbase, Binance, Ripple-oh my!) and banks so big they make J.P. Morgan look like a neighborhood loan shark.

Michael Amar, Chairman of Paris Blockchain Week, said the cancellation “created a void… which we’ve filled with baguettes, ambition, and a suspiciously large number of Bitcoin briefcases.” He added, “The conversations don’t stop-they just now include more French accents and less desert heat.”

This conference isn’t just for crypto nerds; it’s a glorious collision of digital assets and traditional finance, like a romantic comedy between Bitcoin and your mom’s stock portfolio. If you’ve got nothing better to do this spring (and why would you?), Paris is the place to be-or at least the place to be seen.

Paris Blockchain Week takes place April 15-16, 2026. For details, visit parisblockchainweek.com. Spoiler: it involves more handshakes than a vampire convention.
