Paramount and MGM+ Confirm Treasure Island TV Series Starring Hayley Atwell

MGM+ and Paramount+ are teaming up to create a TV series based on Treasure Island. They’ve also announced three main actors, one of whom is already popular with fans.

Hayley Atwell, known for her role in Mission: Impossible, will star as Bess Hawkins in the new Treasure Island series coming to MGM+ and Paramount+. David Oyelowo, from Silo, will play Long John Silver, and Jack Huston, who appeared in Season 4 of Fargo, will portray Aaron Graham.

The new series coming to MGM+/Paramount+ is the latest take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s beloved novel, Treasure Island, which first appeared in print in 1881 as Treasure Island or the Mutiny of the Hispaniola. The story follows Jim Hawkins, a young man who goes on a dangerous sea voyage after his father’s death, and must face ruthless pirates and other dangers to survive.

MGM+ and Paramount+ UK have announced a new series based on Treasure Planet, calling it an exciting and adventurous coming-of-age story for today’s audiences. Playground is producing the series, with David Stern, Scott Huff, Colin Callender, and Daniel Gratton serving as executive producers. Michael Wright and Alex Strum from MGM+ are overseeing the project.

Robert Louis Stevenson’s beloved adventure, Treasure Island, has been reimagined for a modern audience in a new adaptation. According to the creator, this version perfectly embodies the spirit of MGM+, delivering classic Hollywood storytelling with a talented cast.
