Paradox Interactive has taken over the developers of Jagged Alliance 3.
Haemimont Games Studio, known for creating games like Stellaris, Crusader Kings, and Cities: Skylines, has been taken under the care of a new publisher. Rest assured, this transition won’t disrupt ongoing projects or affect the team’s workflow. The structure of the studio and its leadership will continue to remain unchanged.
In this acquisition, it’s unexpected that after some less-than-stellar launches, Paradox emphasized their intention to excel at what they do best. Yet, the tactical strategy game Jagged Alliance 3 aligns closely with their core competencies… which leads one to ponder why Paradox discontinued their partnership with Harebrained Schemes studio.
The Haemimont Games team showed delight over this modification and promised that gamers will enjoy exceptional titles from their studio moving forward. Meanwhile, Frederik Wester, leader of Paradox, stated that their objective is to empower the developer to create outstanding games under their guidance, including a fresh brand.
It’s a joy to join the Paradox family! Our organizations seem to share a similar ethos, making us feel right at home. This alliance gives us the opportunity to take our game development to new heights, providing our players with even richer and immersive experiences.
Additionally, this development broadens exciting avenues for our squad, technology, and innovative workflows, which we can’t wait to delve into. Keep an eye out for some fantastic upcoming games from us, as shared by Gabriel Dobrew, the CEO of Haemimont Games.
In July 2023, Jagged Alliance 3 hit the shelves, much to the delight of players (and developers), despite initial fan concerns about its continuation of the beloved series. Critics and fans alike applauded the game, and by the end of the year, it was made available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The ownership rights to the brand continued under the THQ Nordic company.
