Paradise fans “mindblown” by Season 2 finale over real Denver Airport theory

The season finale of ‘Paradise’ left viewers stunned after incorporating actual conspiracy theories surrounding Denver International Airport, including the famous ‘Blucifer’ statue, into its final scenes. Be warned: spoilers follow!

Man, this second season of that post-apocalyptic show has been wild! Seriously, it’s been full of surprises from the very beginning. I was totally gutted by what happened in Episode 4, and I’m still trying to figure out what’s going on with Sinatra’s son, Dylan. Plus, all those nosebleeds? Super creepy and definitely make you think something big is coming.

The most perplexing mystery revolved around an entity known as “Alex,” which turned out to be an incredibly sophisticated quantum computer with the power to foresee and alter events. It had, in effect, generated a different version of reality, and the nosebleeds were a side effect of this change.

Right before she dies, Sinatra sends Xavier on a mission to shut down Alex at a secret underground bunker beneath Denver Airport, hoping to prevent a global catastrophe. This plot point has surprised many fans, as Denver Airport is already famous for various conspiracy theories about the apocalypse.

Denver Airport is supposedly home to an underground to bunker for the world’s elite

Near the end of the second season finale of Paradise, the show quickly reveals the location of Alex, the AI quantum computer: hidden beneath Denver Airport, complete with its well-known horse statue. We’ll discuss the statue later.

Okay, seriously, my jaw dropped when they revealed there was another bunker! I was scrolling through Reddit and saw someone say exactly how I felt: “I AM MINDBLOWN!” As a big fan of conspiracy theories myself, the Denver Airport stuff was cool, but this show is just…perfect. It’s hitting all the right notes!

Someone explained the interest in Denver Airport by saying it’s been the subject of many conspiracy theories for years – rumors of a secret underground bunker for the government or even the Illuminati. So, when the show incorporated a real-life conspiracy theory about the airport, people were excited.

So, why all the speculation about Denver Airport? It opened in 1995 and was constructed by a group called the New World Airport Commission, which has since disappeared. Some conspiracy theorists believe this group was a front for the ‘New World Order’ – a belief that a single, powerful government secretly controls the entire world. It’s a complex idea, but that’s the basic premise behind the theory.

The conspiracy theories about Denver Airport and the Illuminati, especially those that started during its construction, are hilarious! I’m excited to see what the remodeled airport looks like – maybe it really is a hangout for lizard people! 🦎 #denfiles

Stories circulate that the extensive network of subway tunnels and an old baggage handling system aren’t what they seem – some believe they secretly house underground bunkers meant to protect people during a major disaster. Even wilder theories suggest lizard-like beings helped build the whole system, but that’s where things get really far-fetched.

Denver Airport is famous for the many unusual theories surrounding its construction. Airport officials have playfully fueled these rumors over the years, even posting artwork referencing things like lizard people and jokingly suggesting the airport was built as a base for the Illuminati.

It’s likely most of this is made up (or at least, that’s what some might want you to believe!), but the season finale of Paradise was amusingly built around conspiracy theories. The episode took things a step further by even featuring the well-known “Blucifer” statue.

Paradise Season 2 features famous “Blucifer” statue which is reportedly cursed

Viewers outside of the United States may find the bright blue horse statue with red, glowing eyes—seen at Denver Airport in the final scene of Paradise Season 2—a bit puzzling.

That’s not an art installation – it’s an actual statue in Denver with a dark and fascinating history, which only adds to the strange stories about the place.

The Blue Mustang is a large fiberglass sculpture of a rearing horse with bright red eyes, created by artist Luis Jiménez for the airport in February 2008. Tragically, Jiménez died in 2006 while working on the statue. A piece of it broke loose in his New Mexico studio, falling on him and severing an artery in his leg. He was pinned by a steel beam and unable to escape.

The Blue Mustang sculpture, with its unsettling appearance, has earned the nickname “Blucifer,” and some even think it symbolizes one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Considering the show’s post-apocalyptic themes, it’s a perfect addition to the world of Paradise Season 2 and future seasons.

People on Reddit were excited to see the Blucifer statue featured in the show, and some even speculated it might play a key role in restoring the world, ironically echoing the tragic circumstances of artist Robert Jiménez’s death.

Someone suggested that a recent scene hints Alex might be the villain in season three, pointing out it happened right under a demonic horse that killed its owner. Another person responded with a surprising idea: maybe the horse will fall on Alex and destroy the computer.
