Papa John’s is now offering a new menu item that’s unique – you can’t find it anywhere outside the U.S., and it’s not pizza!
Recently, major fast-food companies have been testing out new and unusual menu items and concepts. For example, McDonald’s launched seven CosMc’s locations focused on beverages and unique snacks, but closed three of those locations after a little over a year.
Not every attempt hits the mark, but many are well-received, and customers often ask for more innovative products and a return of items they’ve enjoyed in the past.
Okay, so everyone knows Papa John’s for their pizza, right? They’re everywhere! But I noticed they’ve got something new on the menu, and it’s a bit of a surprise. It’s not your usual pizza with red sauce or BBQ – they’re definitely trying something different.
Papa John’s now has sandwiches
Starting March 30th, Papa John’s locations across the U.S. began offering new oven-toasted sandwiches, similar to those served at Subway.
The pizza restaurant currently offers three different types of sandwiches, which they’re calling Papadias.
We offer three delicious sandwiches: the Philly Cheesesteak, Chicken Bacon Ranch, and Steak & Mushroom. Each one is made with Papa John’s signature sauces.

According to Shivram Vaideeswaran, Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing at Papa John’s, this new menu item represents a significant shift in the company’s direction and overall brand identity.
We’re excited to introduce oven-toasted sandwiches as the latest example of our commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients and innovative flavors.
Don’t let the timing fool you – this isn’t a joke! You can now order one of three new sandwiches at your nearest Papa John’s.
Some customers have suggested the menu is missing an Italian sub. One person said not having it was a big oversight, while another wondered why they didn’t offer options like meatball and pepperoni.
