I was really struck by this photo taken by Thibault Camus for the Associated Press. It shows police guarding the entrance to the Galerie d’Apollon after that shocking jewelry theft on Sunday, October 19th. What’s really cool, though, is this guy in the background – a fedora and suit! He looks like he walked right out of an old black and white movie, it’s such a stark contrast to everything else happening. The stolen jewelry was apparently incredibly valuable, but that man really caught my eye in the picture.

Michael Myers is responsible for a huge number of deaths throughout the Halloween franchise—over 160, if you count the different timelines. The 2018 timeline, which includes the original film and the recent trilogy directed by David Gordon Green, features his highest kill count with 69 victims. However, when it comes to kills per movie, the Rob Zombie films are the most violent, totaling 31 deaths in just two installments. While Rob Zombie movies are known for their brutality, many fans consider the most shocking death to occur in the original 1981 sequel, Halloween II.

Talamasca Can’t Stand on Its Own

AMC’s new series, Talamasca, begins October 26th and is part of the same universe as their adaptations of Anne Rice’s novels, including the critically acclaimed Interview With the Vampire (returning for a third season) and Mayfair Witches (also renewed). All these stories are linked by the Talamasca, a secret organization that monitors supernatural beings – vampires, witches, ghosts, and demons – acting as both researchers and spies. While knowing the background from those other shows might be helpful, it’s not essential. However, Talamasca doesn’t quite feel developed enough to work as a standalone series. The first season, consisting of only six episodes, feels stretched out with unnecessary side plots and hints at a future mystery. A particularly drawn-out nightclub scene, meant to be alluring, didn’t land – and honestly, even Charmed had more exciting moments.

Okay, so Garchomp was already a beast back in the Gen 4 games, being a pseudo-legendary and all. But its Mega Evolution? Seriously takes it to another level! It’s way stronger, both when attacking and defending. Honestly, Mega Garchomp is one of the best Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The best part? I was able to unlock it pretty early on in the game, and it didn’t take a ton of work or completing a bunch of quests. Super convenient!
