Okay, so this movie is set in modern-day LA and it follows this film editor, Arj, who’s really hitting a rough patch. He’s working a bunch of dead-end jobs just to get by, and honestly, he’s pretty down on life. The one good thing he has going for him is Elena, a coworker who’s super driven and wants to fight for better working conditions. Then things get *weird*. Arj ends up delivering something to this ridiculously wealthy tech billionaire, Jeff, who’s basically living the high life. Meanwhile, there’s this angel, Gabriel, who has the surprisingly unglamorous job of stopping people from texting while driving. He’s told to leave things alone, but he’s convinced there’s someone he can *really* help. He sees how much Arj is struggling and decides to switch their lives – a decision that immediately backfires. Now, Arj has to figure out if his old life was worth anything, and Gabriel has to deal with the chaos of being rich *and* help Jeff survive on the streets. It’s a total mess, but a funny one!

Amidst the drama of the U.K./U.S. summit at Chequers, Austin Dennison and his wife, Thema Aseidu-Dennison (played by Tracy Ifeachor), seem to be having a surprisingly normal time. Kate is shocked to learn they’ve been married for a month! They have a sweet story – it’s a second chance at love for both of them, having been married previously. Austin is a good friend to Kate, which is great. However, as someone who loves a lot of drama, I can’t help but wonder how much more exciting things would be if Kate and Austin were together, especially with the Wylers potentially separating. The show is already full of suspense, but with a long wait until season four, why not really push the boundaries and go all-out with the drama?
The White House is in an uproar as Billie tries to unite the staff, cabinet, and Hal around a consistent message crafted with Grace. The President wants everyone to express shock, sympathy, and separation from Rayburn, though not necessarily in that order. True to form, Hal proposes a different approach: silence. He believes that immediately offering a defense or apology would undermine their strategy of blaming Rayburn for the attack on the HMS *Courageous*, a move they still want to leverage to control how the story is told.
You can leave the theater as soon as *Black Phone 2* ends—there are no extra scenes after the credits. Just like the first *Black Phone* movie, there’s no hint of what might happen next or any bonus content after the credits roll.
The creators of *No Other Land* chose to release the film independently so all profits could directly support Palestinians in Masafer Yatta. Co-director Yuval Abraham explained that it didn’t make sense to allow a company that contributes to the oppression of Palestinians to profit from a film documenting that very oppression.
