Instead of Kate Winslet and Jean Smart, the series Task presents us with Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey as two struggling single fathers. It’s a suspenseful tale disguised as a procedural, where an emotionally scarred FBI agent engaged in a high-stakes chase with a lawbreaker grappling with the burden of feeding too many mouths. Once more, Ingelsby ventures to the outskirts of Philadelphia and Delco. Ruffalo portrays Tom, an FBI agent whose son is incarcerated under unclear circumstances following his wife’s demise. Pelphrey plays Robbie, a garbage man turned thief who often dons a chilling skull mask. His wife abandoned him to raise the kids with his niece, Maeve, brilliantly enacted by Emilia Jones. Oh yes, his brother is deceased.

Chris Evans, known for his portrayal of Captain America, has been drawing attention lately. His appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival suggested he might be gearing up to put on Cap’s shield once more. Speculation is that Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers in the upcoming fifth Avengers film, marking a return to the superhero movie franchise after over five years, except for a funny cameo as Human Torch in Deadpool & Wolverine.

As stated by The Wonder Project’s press release, streaming for “The Mysterious Benedict Society” on Disney+ is set to commence on October 5. This streaming service, which can be accessed as an add-on to Amazon Prime Video, is slated to debut. Interestingly, both seasons of “The Mysterious Benedict Society” will be introduced on this platform, making it the first place where fans can stream the series since its removal from Disney+ in 2023.

Ansari portrays Arj, a struggling documentary editor based in L.A., who supplements his income by taking part-time jobs at a hardware store and a task management service called “Task Sergeant.” His tasks vary widely, from waiting in line for clients wanting viral cinnamon buns to tidying messy garages. The work is demanding and humbling, often placing Arj at the mercy of harsh clients who sometimes fail to pay for services affected by factors beyond his control, such as the popular cinnamon buns running out before his turn in line.
