John Carpenter, the famous filmmaker, is releasing his first graphic novel, titled Cathedral. It’s being published by Storm King Comics, a company founded by his wife, Sandy King. The story follows Lieutenant Christine Marks as she investigates an abandoned cathedral in downtown Los Angeles. She believes a monster inside is responsible for her father’s murder. Along with detectives Paul Hernandez and Steve Mayfield, she explores the church and uncovers the terrifying secrets hidden within its walls.

The show is designed so that details from previous episodes often become important later on, sometimes even directly impacting events in the same season. The recent preview for The Pitt season 2, episode 12 suggests an early detail will now be crucial, as a nurse finds herself in danger.

This reveal isn’t a surprise; the show has been building towards it for several seasons. While the mystical elements play a part, it really started back in season two when Master Raymond told Claire about a pale-blue light surrounding her – we actually saw it! He was a mysterious character, to say the least. Then, in season four, Cherokee healer Adawehi shared a dream with Claire, predicting she would gain wisdom beyond time as she aged. We see that prophecy unfolding in the latest episode. It’s exciting, but also concerning, because Adawehi also warned Claire about death being unavoidable and not her fault. Given the talk of the upcoming battle at King Mountain, this makes me worried about Jamie and Claire’s fate. It feels like something bad is looming, but the increasing tension is definitely keeping me hooked as the season comes to a close.

The first new show was Original Sin, which premiered on Showtime and Paramount+ in 2024. Following that, a prequel series focusing on John Lithgow’s character, the Trinity Killer, was in the works. Though ultimately cancelled, this series had progressed quite far – John Lithgow had already committed to the project, and scripts for all episodes had been completed.
