I’m so excited for the new Green Lantern show, Lanterns! It’s being created by Damon Lindelof, who actually won an Emmy, and he was on the Lovett or Leave It podcast recently. He made a funny comment about why they decided to leave ‘Green’ out of the title, which was a really interesting little tidbit!

In the past, it was easy to assume TV spy shows weren’t as exciting as movies because they usually had smaller budgets. Movies could afford elaborate international settings and dangerous stunts, while TV shows often kept things simpler. But the popular Netflix series Bodyguard shows that a high budget isn’t always necessary to create a thrilling spy story.

Blue Heron isn’t a typical family drama; it’s more of a thoughtful exploration of memory, the passage of time, and how one person’s pain can affect generations. It shares similarities with films like Aftersun and Souvenir, but ultimately stands on its own. The director isn’t trying to evoke strong emotions, but rather to piece together the story of this family – what their lives once held and what ultimately became of them. It’s an impressive first film that also takes some bold creative chances. Blue Heron will premiere in New York City on April 17th, and will be released nationally afterward.

Many great Western films maintain consistent quality by expanding their storylines and exploring the lives of several connected characters. It’s common to see a diverse group of people united by a shared goal embarking on a journey, a popular theme particularly in the early days of the Western genre when it was first becoming established.

Paul Feig’s film version of Freida McFadden’s popular novel exceeded all expectations. The Housemaid earned an impressive $394 million worldwide, making it the most successful movie for both Feig and star Sydney Sweeney. Given its huge success, it wasn’t surprising when a film adaptation of McFadden’s second book, The Housemaid’s Secret, was announced.

Many viewers were confused by a detail in the second trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2: Miranda Priestly didn’t seem to remember Andy, even though they had worked closely together for months in the original movie.

As Outlander finishes its eighth and final season, it’s clear the show has always had a dedicated and enthusiastic fanbase. While it hasn’t received the same critical acclaim or sparked the same cultural conversations as shows like Succession or The Bear – it’s never been nominated for a major Emmy, for example – Outlander has consistently generated passionate reactions from its viewers, including lively concerts and devoted fan gatherings. Like those popular series, Outlander blends multiple genres, but it’s more akin to a show like Heated Rivalry than Succession: at its core, it’s always been a story about love and intimacy. As Sam Heughan points out, “We were doing this before Bridgerton came along – for twelve years, in fact.”
