Though she’s gone, there’s enough unfinished music to release at least two albums after her death, and plans for a holographic concert are already underway. Shane Sills, like many exploitative figures in the music industry – including real-life people like Dr. Luke and Scott Borchetta – served as the inspiration for this character.

I was listening to an interview with Zach Cregger on the Crew Call podcast, and he said something pretty surprising. The show’s creator, Vince Gilligan, seems content to leave the origins of the Joining unexplained, choosing instead to focus on its impact on the characters and the world around them. This approach aligns with his previous work, most notably Breaking Bad, which prioritized character development. Despite this, Gilligan is slowly revealing more about the Joining throughout the first season, weaving its unusual premise into the ongoing narrative.
