At the end of season three of Mayor of Kingstown, Kyle (Taylor Handley) was arrested and imprisoned, initially in solitary confinement, which presented its own difficulties. However, the fifth episode saw him transferred to the general prison population, a move that’s likely to be very challenging, as he’ll probably be targeted by other inmates. I spoke with Handley about filming these intense prison scenes, and he explained why they can be so unsettling.

The newest episode of Watson, airing in 2025, presented John and his colleagues with a series of difficult problems. These weren’t just caused by a young athlete’s rapid and untreatable cancer diagnosis. Mycroft’s interference with the Holmes Clinic, hinted at in the previous episode, escalated when he suddenly cut off funding. This forced John to personally cover the cost of a patient’s urgent medical procedure.

Not all stories about everyday life are equally good, and this show still relies too much on the silly storylines involving Angela and Ainsley. This week, they’re at a retirement home for an aerobics class that quickly turns into a party with drinks and dancing. The staff has been letting it happen because the residents enjoy themselves, but that changes when an unexpected inspection from Health and Human Services arrives.

I’m starting to think this season might be the last for the show, and honestly, it feels right. What’s different this time around is how openly everyone is acknowledging just how shaky Mike McLusky’s whole operation is. I’ve always teased him for his messy plans and his insistence on bringing peace to a seriously corrupt city, but this season, everyone else seems just as frustrated with the Mayor as I am. It’s actually really satisfying to watch!

Look, Tim Allen is funny, and that gets people to watch his show, but honestly, there’s just so much better family sitcom TV out there. I’ve been thinking about it, and shows like The Conners, All in the Family, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Modern Family – they really hit different. The initial four episodes will return the story to Hawkins and finally provide answers fans have been anticipating. While the world of Stranger Things will continue with an animated spin-off, the creators have shared that this final season also marks the end of an era.
