This mythical wallet, painstakingly woven with Tether—the omnipresent issuer of digital coins that sometimes feel like they belong to everybody and nobody—promises to be not just a tool, but, dare we say, a sanctuary. It is imagined for creators who labor beneath foreign skies, whose remuneration might once have crumbled through the sieve of intermediary hands. Instead, a wallet! And not just any wallet, but one to unseat that timeworn prince, Coinbase. One can almost hear the old script: “We’re not in it solely for the glory; we’re in it for the economy of the soul—the creator’s soul.”

The latest ludicrous rally took root with a long-legged doji candle on May 6 (imagine Jeeves after too many sherries), completing something called a morning star pattern. Apparently, this is very good news if you’re a candle or a bullish fellow. The result? A whacking near-35% ascent for PEPE on May 8, producing a bullish candle strong enough to make Aunt Agatha grumble. Tradewinds suggest winds of change might be afoot—or a-toe, at the very least.

George Kelly, the reporter who broke the story on May 8, says he caught up with Yu outside his cozy two-story abode. Naturally, Yu didn’t feel like chatting about his dramatic livestream exit or whether his little stunt had lined his pockets. Instead, he apparently stared into Kelly’s soul and said, “You can see the PTSD in my eyes, right?” before kindly asking the journalist to leave. How very polite, right? 🙄

On the 8th of May, XRP did a most un-British thing and soared nearly 10%, arm-in-arm with Bitcoin, which itself barrelled through the ceiling at $104k, presumably to celebrate with a few caviar canapés. Yet, the very next day, with Ripple and the SEC having finally kissed and made up over $50 million, the market shrugged and went back to reading the Times. Fascinating, isn’t it? After all those years of litigation, XRP is now down a lacklustre 1.08% as I pen these words. Quelle surprise!

To cement this new alliance, Coinbase is shoveling $700 million in cash and for extra laughs, tossing in 11 million shares of its own stock. Generosity? Or just ensuring their own shares don’t get lonely?

Ethereum, never content to play second violin to Bitcoin’s showy orchestration, started its campaign above $1,880. It battered the ramparts at $1,950, and, in a fit of poetic justice astonishing to onlookers, smashed through $2,000. Momentum uncoiled: 25% up, diving past resistance lines, indifferent to Fibonacci sequences as Tolstoy is to doorstoppers.
