An animated series based on Final Fantasy IX was originally announced in 2021, a joint project between Square Enix and Cyber Group Studios. The show generated excitement because it promised traditional 2D animation and a faithful adaptation of the popular medieval fantasy world and characters. However, after Cyber Group Studios closed down in early 2025, the project appeared to be cancelled. Now, surprisingly, it seems to be moving forward again.

Gunn and Melchior are friends, and just as Gunn often does with actors he likes, he cast her in another film, this time as Ura in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Because Melchior previously starred in Road House and has a connection to the person now leading DC Universe creative decisions, fans are wondering if she might reprise her role as Ratcatcher 2 in future DC projects.

Over the next thirty years, Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie collaborated on four more films. They first reunited for the memorable heist comedy Snatch in 2000, then followed it with the complex gambling thriller Revolver in 2005, which featured Statham in a surprising look with a wig and mustache. After a break, they came together again for the fun, action-packed spy film Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre in 2023. But before that, in 2021, they made Wrath of Man, a powerfully dark and intense revenge thriller that stands out as one of the grittiest action movies of recent years.

It’s become clear that TV shows are struggling to recreate the success of Game of Thrones, and the constant attempts are starting to feel repetitive. This has shifted the focus of fantasy TV, with many new shows now prioritizing complex politics and violence over traditional fantasy storytelling. Hopefully, with the Game of Thrones universe exploring new directions, it can once again lead to innovation in the genre.

Jeffries recently told ScreenRant that the flashbacks in season 2 of Percy Jackson show Thalia acting as an older sister figure to Annabeth while they were both on the run. Although Annabeth’s bravery comes partly from her mother, Athena, the flashbacks also demonstrate that she learned a lot of it from Thalia.

Chevy Chase briefly suggested to Lorne Michaels that he be included in the SNL 50th anniversary show, but quickly retracted the idea, admitting he even sent a text saying it was “silly.” However, he believes it was a mistake to leave him out, saying someone should have included him on stage and that it bothered him. According to Chase’s wife, Jayni, there were two potential segments featuring him that the show’s producers were considering, but neither made it into the final broadcast.

The movie Marty Supreme is full of unbelievable events. Throughout the film, Marty Mauser (Timothée Chalamet) gets away with outrageous things – from a relationship with actress Kay Stone (Gwyneth Paltrow) to accidentally blowing up a gas station – often just by saying “I love you” and running away. However, the most unbelievable moment comes at the very end, when Marty is suddenly overcome with emotion at the sight of his newborn baby. The film never suggests he’s capable of such a reaction, and this emotional turn feels unearned and like a convenient way to wrap up the story, much like Marty’s constant escapes.
