As a film enthusiast with a soft spot for family-friendly movies, I must say that the upcoming adventure of Paddington in Peru has me thoroughly excited! Having grown up watching the classic Bear on a Bike series, it’s heartening to see our furry friend embarking on another grand escapade.

Ready to jet-set to Peru to visit his aunt Lucy in the new trailer, Paddington takes a really bad passport photo. Talking bears, they’re just like us. Otherwise, we see the squad arrive at the Home for Retired Bears for Paddington’s family reunion, only to find that Lucy has set off for some quest in the Amazon and hasn’t been heard from since. Naturally, they endeavor to find her, with a habit-clad Olivia Colman and guide Antonio Banderas in tow.
New cast members join the adventure.
In the upcoming adventure, Hugh Grant, Antonio Banderas, and Emily Mortimer will join Paddington bear as they travel internationally. Grant portrays a unique character: a guitar-strumming nun who runs a bear retirement home. Banderas is depicted as a knowledgeable riverboat captain who assists in leading the expedition through the rainforest. Mortimer replaces Sally Hawkins, who played Mrs. Brown in the earlier films. Rachel Zeigler was initially set to appear as Banderas’ daughter but had to withdraw from the project due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. In addition to these stars, Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Madeleine Harris, and Samuel Joslin are featured in Dougal Wilson’s directorial debut. Despite being a CGI bear, Paddington was filmed on location in the UK, Peru, and Colombia with the human actors.
When’s the release date?
On February 14, 2025, Paddington begins his adventure. Isn’t it fitting that he starts on Valentine’s Day? Originally, he was set to go on January 17, 2025, but due to unspecified reasons, his release date got delayed. Rest assured, he’s patiently waiting for his turn.
