Okay, so Overwatch’s been updated, and honestly, it’s way harder to sneak around now. Trying to push the payload quietly or flank the enemy feels almost impossible with these new changes. They’ve really made it tough to catch anyone off guard!
Okay, so Overwatch Season 1 is finally here, and it’s a huge change! It feels like a totally fresh start for the game. They’ve added five new heroes to play, which is awesome, but they’ve also tweaked how roles work in matches with these new sub-roles. And, honestly, I didn’t see this coming, but there’s a Hello Kitty collaboration happening too! It’s a wild mix, but I’m excited to jump in and check it all out.
In addition to these major changes, the update includes several minor improvements. However, two surprising new features might actually be quite significant.
Stealth is harder than ever in Overwatch
The latest updates include a change where defenders in Escort and Hybrid modes will now more easily detect when an enemy is pushing the payload and will announce it with a voice line.
It might not seem like much, but secretly moving the objective while the enemy team is nearby is a classic strategy, particularly if they’re aggressively trying to get kills. Calling it out immediately warns your teammates, letting them quickly stop it.
Plus, heroes will now automatically alert their teammates when they spot an enemy hero using invisibility. This update is especially aimed at Sombra, whose abilities focus on surprising and attacking enemies from behind.
No More Sneaking Up to the Payload, My Dudes!

When the updates were released on February 10th, a lot of fans expressed their disappointment, saying they now found it harder to make skillful moves.
One player on Reddit jokingly lamented the end of a tactic, saying, “It was good while it lasted, but we’ve been discovered.” They specifically referenced the frustration of slowly pushing the objective while teammates were far away, chasing kills elsewhere.
One player complained that the game was being made too easy, while another said they disliked the changes, arguing that staying focused on goals is an important skill and players should be expected to manage that.
Many players have noticed that even with this change, strategies like flanking or carefully moving the objective can still work. Enemies might still not notice or react to warnings. After all, the objective’s movement is already visible on screen, but players are still often caught off guard.
It’s still unclear how these changes will affect the game, but with more Overwatch updates coming in 2026, any problems can likely be fixed later.
