Blizzard just revealed Overwatch Rush, a new mobile game based in the world of Overwatch.
The game was officially revealed on February 24th and is designed as a fast-paced, overhead shooter for mobile phones and tablets.
Blizzard has announced that Overwatch Rush is being created by a separate development team, distinct from the team that works on the main Overwatch game (Team 4).
The new game includes familiar faces like Reinhard, Mercy, and Tracer, but it won’t play like the standard Overwatch. Instead of the typical third-person action, expect a very different experience.
Overwatch Rush officially revealed
As a huge fan, it’s awesome to hear Blizzard is letting us get our hands on the game now! They said they know there’s still a lot to do, but they’re really excited for us to play what they’ve created so far and, more importantly, tell them what we think should be improved next. It sounds like they’re really listening to the community, which is fantastic!
The studio shared that they plan to keep growing the Overwatch world with new experiences for players on all devices. They promise to share more details as development continues.
Although a specific launch date isn’t available yet, the developers are getting ready to test Overwatch Rush in a few countries and regions.
This news arrives as interest in Overwatch is growing again, thanks to the recent Season 1 update. The update added new heroes like Jet Pack Cat, plus a lot of fresh content for players to enjoy.
