In the upcoming Season 15 of Overwatch 2, a fresh hero veto system will be introduced, enabling players to collectively decide to exclude particular characters from their competitive games. It appears that players have already identified certain heroes they’d prefer not to face.

Players of the game Overwatch have long requested the option to ban specific heroes in competitive play, as a means to exclude excessively powerful and annoying characters from their games. However, up until now, Blizzard Entertainment has hesitated to implement this feature.

In the upcoming Season 15 of Marvel Rivals, a new rule will be implemented: Players can vote to ban two heroes before every ranked match starting from February 18. While some characters may vary, it seems that many players have already identified one they’d like to see gone – Widowmaker.

OW2 players are already planning to ban Widowmaker

Reddit user ‘xalavine’ posted on the Overwatch subreddit asking for opinions on which characters community members might want to ban during Season 15. The post garnered many upvotes and comments, and while several strong heroes were suggested, Widowmaker stood out as the top choice among users.

One gamer stated that every circuit and Havana layout equates to a Widow ban. He desires to enjoy these Widowless maps, feeling that it could significantly alter the gaming experience.

One significant factor making Widowmaker a target for many players is her ability to take down most support or damage characters with a single well-aimed shot, something that has been pointed out as an issue by numerous players before.

One player remarked that “there’s no character less suited for enjoyment in this game than Widowmaker.” This explains why they believe she is frequently banned due to her unenjoyable nature.

Another person concurred, saying that she’s either not valuable at all or a constant source of frustration for me and my team. She just doesn’t make playing with or against her enjoyable.”

“The other person agreed, stating that she’s either completely useless or a constant thorn in our side. We don’t find her fun to play alongside or compete against.

While Widowmaker can be lethal in skilled hands, she’s not always a reliable choice, restricted to specific maps and game modes. In instances where a sniper isn’t ideal, characters such as Sombra, Mauga, and Pharrah were suggested as suitable alternatives.

One significant worry regarding character bans in heroes has been the accumulation of a single character, so we’ll have to observe how this unfolds. Additionally, Season 15 will introduce not just this issue but also a completely new Permits system as another major feature.
