6v6 returns with not one but two fresh experimental gameplay modes to explore! Get ready to delve deeper into these innovative features as we kick off the 6v6 Role Queue experiment starting tomorrow! 🌟

6v6 Role Queue (Dec 17 – Jan 7):

  • A 2-2-2 format, where each role allows for two heroes, and tanks will be tuned for 6v6 performance (though the specifics of this tuning are still unclear). Once a role is selected (e.g., Tank), players won’t be able to switch to a different role, only between different heroes in that role.

6v6 Min 1 – Max 3 (Jan 21 – Feb 4):

  • Each role will only need one player, so you could end up with a 2-3-1 formation or any combination, as long as one role has one player and another has a maximum of three.

More information about the adjustments for tanks within the Role Queue mode might be forthcoming, though we’re eagerly awaiting the start of our first trial, scheduled for December 17. We’ll return with additional details and look forward to joining you in-game for the thrilling 6v6 tests in Overwatch 2.
