The upcoming playtest for Outward 2 will focus on the Bellowgale region, including the starting city of Haboob. Recently, TopMob got an early look at this part of the game and found it to be very challenging.
If the playtest mirrors the preview, players will be immediately transported to the dangerous Bellowgale region. This area is full of monsters and bandits eager to defeat them before they even have a chance to prepare.
Players familiar with the first Outward will find the sequel equally challenging. You’ll still need to manage basic survival needs like eating, drinking, and sleeping, and it’s crucial to unequip items before combat to avoid quickly running out of stamina. Essentially, Outward 2 offers the same tough, realistic gameplay as hardcore mode in Fallout, but it’s the standard experience here.
Despite its difficulty, the Outward series has gained a dedicated following for a good reason. Overcoming its tough challenges is incredibly satisfying, and exploring the harsh world of Outward 2 feels truly rewarding if you’re up for the task.
