On his Twitch broadcast on February 15th, Will Neff disclosed that significant alterations are underway at OTK in the wake of the Asmongold controversy.
Under the name One True King (OTK), a content collective was established in the year 2020 by popular online figures: Asmongold, Mizkif, Esfand, Rich Campbell, and Tips Out.
From its inception, they’ve incorporated a number of well-known streamers like Nmplol, ExtraEmily, and Emiru into their roster. The latest addition to their team was made in February 2024 with the inclusion of Will Neff.
During his live broadcast on February 15th, Neff hinted at potential changes within OTK, expressing that “adjustments are necessary.
Rest assured, we are working on improvements to enhance our organization, and you might notice more developments soon. If, however, we fail to create a more enjoyable and thriving work environment, I may need to reconsider my position.
Many speculate that Will Neff was talking about Asmongold
It appears that although Neff did not explicitly identify who or what he was alluding to, numerous online discussions suggest he might have been referencing Asmongold.
1. User A said: “It’s either him or Asmon, seems plausible.”
2. Translation: User A implied: “There’s a possibility it’s him or Asmon, and that makes sense.”
3. User B commented: “That was carefully worded and deliberately slow speech for ‘We’re trying to replace Asmongold without overspending’.”
4. Translation: User B suggested: “What they were saying in a roundabout way was, ‘We’re trying to find someone else instead of Asmongold at a lower cost’.”
Over the last few months, Asmongold has been in multiple debatable scenarios, primarily because of his content that leans towards politics.
In October 2024, the streaming platform imposed a short-term suspension on him due to his statements regarding Palestine. In January, there was a conflict between him and Elon Musk following his doubts about Musk’s gaming skills.
Asmongold firmly intends to persist with his existing content style, asserting that he will abide by the rules set by the service, and will always express his thoughts freely.
