Original X-Men Star to Make Surprise Appearance in Avengers: Doomsday — Report

Yet another original X-Men star is now expected to appear in Marvel Studios‘ Avengers: Doomsday.

Last year, Marvel surprised fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by revealing that six actors from the old X-Men movies – Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and James Marsden (Cyclops) – would be in the upcoming film, Doomsday. While some familiar faces were missing from the announcement, it appears Marvel was intentionally holding back a few surprises.

Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly include Storm

According to a new post from the reliable source The Beyond Reporter, Halle Berry is set to reprise her role as Storm in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. This news follows the reporter’s earlier confirmation that Famke Janssen will return as Jean Grey. If accurate, Avengers: Doomsday will feature almost all of the main characters from the original X-Men movies, with only Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), Rogue (Anna Paquin), and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) yet to be confirmed.

For a while, there’s been talk of Storm joining the cast of Doomsday. However, fans doubted the rumors after Berry said in April 2025 that she wouldn’t be part of any future announcements about the show’s cast. She famously stated, “Keep waiting. It’s not going to be there.” Ultimately, a second livestream to announce the cast never happened.

There’s been no real talk about Iceman and Rogue being in the upcoming Doomsday movie, but reports about Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine are mixed. The latest rumor, from insider MyTimeToShineHello, suggests Jackman’s Wolverine will share a scene with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. This scene is predicted to be even more impactful than the emotional moment in Spider-Man: No Way Home when Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man tells Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland’s characters he loves them.

All will be revealed when Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
