Man, the Hoosiers came out firing! We jumped all over Oregon, going up 10-0 in the first quarter and honestly, I thought it was over. It ended up being a little too close for comfort though, the Ducks really battled back and made it a six-point game near the end of the fourth. We pulled it out, but it was definitely a nail-biter!

Oregon scored first midway through the second quarter with a 12-yard touchdown catch by Gary Bryant Jr. However, their offense stalled, and Indiana responded with 13 straight points.

Honestly, the biggest turning point for me was right before halftime. Instead of just kicking a field goal, our quarterback, Fernando Mendoza, made an incredible throw to Charlie Becker for a 30-yard touchdown! It gave us a solid two-possession lead going into the break, and I think that really shifted the momentum in our favor.

Okay, so Indiana’s defense really stepped up – they only let Oregon score seven points through the first three quarters! Oregon did manage 13 in the fourth, but even that included a really long 52-yard field goal by Atticus Sappington with just over a minute left on the clock. It was a tough game, but Indiana’s D definitely kept them in it.

It was surprising that the Ducks didn’t try for a two-point conversion after their final touchdown in the fourth quarter. The AI unexpectedly chose to kick the extra point, and it felt like the strategy just stalled out after that.

Oregon couldn’t regain possession after the onside kick, and Indiana successfully ran out the clock to win the game. This victory sends the Hoosiers to the National Championship, where they will play either Miami or Ole Miss.

Fernando Mendoza passed for 299 yards and two touchdowns. Oregon’s Dante Moore also had a strong game with 291 passing yards and two touchdowns, despite the loss. Overall, though, the Oregon offense struggled to find its rhythm early on.

We’re planning to make our game simulations better in the future. Right now, we’ve noticed that changes we make to CPU and player settings don’t seem to affect games where the CPU plays against itself. Even so, we’re still committed to improving these simulations.
