The trailer for “Opus,” the newest horror film from A24, has been unveiled. In this chilling tale, Ayo Edebiri, winner of an Emmy for her role in “The Bear,” portrays a young writer. She receives an invitation to visit a secluded estate owned by a mysterious pop star (John Malkovich). As she becomes immersed in his fervent fanbase, the writer grows increasingly uneasy as a sinister scheme takes shape around her.

In the film “Opus,” Edebiri and Malkovich join forces with Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, and Tony Hale. Alongside them are actors like Tatanka Means, Young Mazino, Tamera Tomakili, and Stephanie Suganami. This highly anticipated movie will make its first appearance at the Sundance Film Festival.

Mark Anthony Green made his first full-length directorial effort with the movie he both wrote and supervised. Prior to this, he had created the short film “Trapeze, U.S.A” and worked at GQ magazine. The producers of this film are Josh Bachove, Collin Creighton, and Brad Weston via Makeready, as well as Jelani Johnson and Poppy Hanks through MACRO Film Studios. Executive production credits go to MACRO’s founder and CEO Charles D. King, Sara Newkirk Simon, The-Dream, and Nile Rodgers.

Actress Edebiri, well-known for her roles in “Bottoms” and “The Bear” on Hulu, has been nominated for a DGA Award in the category of exceptional directorial achievement in comedy series. This recognition is for an episode of “The Bear,” titled “Napkins,” that she directed. Additionally, Edebiri has lent her voice to the character of Envy in the upcoming movie “Inside Out 2.” On another note, actor Malkovich has been added to the cast of the Marvel production, “The Fantastic Four.”
