Ubisoft recently shared details about the free “Valley of Memory” expansion for Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. A particularly exciting announcement was the promise of better parkour, with two key improvements planned.
- The so-called “free jump,” which allows jumping and pulling up in places where there are no walls or objects to push off from.
- The “eject” mechanic will also be improved, enabling Basim to bounce or leap backward even if there is no nearby point to hang onto.
With these updates, we’re now able to offer a parkour system similar to the one found in Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Players have responded very enthusiastically to the news, and we’ve included some of their comments from Reddit below.
Oh my God, jumping is back!
The Parkour improvement sounds insane! Thank you, Bordeaux, for actually listening to fans.
I sincerely hope they add those to AC Shadows even if the world isn’t built for it.
It’s great to see Boudreaux paying attention to what players want! It’s really impressive that they’re adding so many new features and improvements to a game that’s already been out for two years, and they’re doing it all for free.
It’s been a long time – since games like *Unity* and *Syndicate* – that we’ve seen features like manual jumping, open-ended mission effects, and missions you can replay. Players have been requesting these features for years.
The Bordeaux team really shines in this installment, bringing back the authentic spirit of the *Assassin’s Creed* games. They seem to be the only developers still focused on the core parkour experience the series is known for.
Assassin’s Creed: Mirage launched on October 5, 2023, for PC and all current and last-generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The game’s first expansion, Valley of Memory, is scheduled to release on November 18th.
