One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 Is Hitting PS5 And Xbox Series X|S With Free Upgrade

Since 1997, Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates from the popular series One Piece have been sailing the seas in search of treasure. Now, fans can bring a piece of that adventure home with an upgrade for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 on modern consoles, thanks to Bandai Namco. Those who already own the game for PS4 or Xbox One will receive the update for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S at no additional cost. The announcement was accompanied by a video showcasing some of the game’s improved graphics.

According to the video, One Piece Pirate Warriors has sold over 4 million copies since its debut in 2020 across various platforms. Excitingly, the game will soon be available as individual versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for those who haven’t purchased it yet. Yet, no specific release date has been shared in the announcement.

Apart from the latest update, Bandai Namco has announced that additional updates and downloadable content are in development for Pirate Warriors 4, regardless of the platform it’s being played on. Since its initial launch and subsequent DLC, Pirate Warriors 4 boasts a roster of 61 One Piece characters, with plans to increase this number. Fans are encouraged to participate in a poll to decide which characters they’d like to see included in an upcoming DLC expansion. This poll is available on Bandai Namco’s official website. The voting period lasts through the end of February, and 23 characters are up for selection.

Bandai Namco has hinted that details about their upcoming DLC will be shared shortly. Meanwhile, the cast for the second season of the live-action One Piece series on Netflix has largely been revealed, although a release date is still undecided – it may come out towards the end of 2025 or in 2026.
