Okay, so the new year just started, and Xbox Game Pass is already giving us a nice treat! This weekend, January 15th to the 18th, we Ultimate, Premium, and even Essential members get to play EA Sports FC 26 for free. Seriously, it’s one of the biggest sports games out there, and we get to jump in and play it without paying a dime! Not bad for the first weekend of 2026, right?
To promote their collaboration, EA and Xbox released a video featuring Toni Kroos, a former German soccer star who played for Real Madrid for ten years, making phone calls to reconnect with friends and fans.
Now that’s what we call great customer service! Play FC 26 and other games for free during EA SPORTS #FreePlayDays from January 15th to 18th.

Game Pass Premium usually costs $15 a month, and Game Pass Essential is $10. Right now, Microsoft is offering a trial of Premium for just $1 for the first 14 days. Essential also has a trial offer – 30 days for $1. Game Pass Ultimate remains at its regular price of $30 per month and isn’t part of this promotion.
EA Sports FC 26 was the highest-grossing console game worldwide in 2025, based on sales figures through November, according to Newzoo. On PC, it ranked as the sixth best-selling game overall.
TopMob reviewed EA Sports FC 26 in September 2025, giving it a score of 7 out of 10. The review highlighted that the game was a significant step up from EA FC 25, though it wasn’t without its issues. According to the reviewer, it’s the best the series has been in some time, and while it might not be a top contender this year, it’s definitely improving.
