ARC Raiders creates exciting moments whenever you encounter another player, as you’re never sure if they’ll be a helpful ally or a dangerous enemy. While defeating other players can be satisfying, many players actually prefer to avoid player-versus-player combat.
Peacful gameplay
Steam stats reveal how players are experiencing ARC Raiders. Specifically, only about 43% have earned the “Unyielding” achievement, which requires defeating 10 other players. This suggests that over half of the game’s players don’t often participate in player-versus-player combat.
Most players managed to defeat at least one enemy, unlocking the “Crossed the Threshold” achievement. Currently, 81.4% of players have earned this, which means almost 20% haven’t defeated any opponents. It’s also possible that some players stopped playing the game early on without fully trying it out.

Why do players avoid combat?
Most players see ARC Raiders as a cooperative shooter where you try to survive and collect valuable items while fighting robots. The goal for everyone is to gather loot and then get back to base safely.
Because of this, a lot of players focus on completing tasks and gathering resources or upgrading their gear. They tend to avoid competitive, player-versus-player combat. This is especially noticeable when playing alone, where you often encounter friendly players who quickly say “don’t shoot!” when they see someone else.
It’s surprisingly easy to find teammates when playing alone. I’d say about 80% of the people I message about working together are happy to join up.
Some players intentionally avoid player-versus-player combat (PvP). When they do, their gameplay changes – they focus on stealth and trying not to be seen by other players who are actively hunting them, with the main goal being to safely escape the map.
The game ARC Raiders is playable on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A recent major update has sparked debate among players because of a change many are disagreeing with.
